Greeting, Members and Friends of the UCSB Music Affiliates –
As many of you know, radio station 93.7 KDB-FM will be under new ownership within the next month, or so. As a result, tomorrow evening, Sunday, April 6 will be our very last broadcast of The UCSB Music Affiliates Hour.
We’ll be going out with a wonderful guest – internationally acclaimed violist, Helen Callus. In addition to hearing Helen’s recordings of the music of Vaughn Williams, Pamela Harrison, Rebecca Clarke, and J.S. Bach, we’ll have a glimpse into the heart and mind of this premier musician. We’ll discuss some of the unexpected challenges that concertizing and recording artists face, as well as the challenge of helping modern student musicians prepare for their careers.
You can find out more about Helen Callus and even get access to her many CDs at www.helencallus.com
We Music Affiliates want to express our gratitude to KDB-FM and, in particular, to station manager Roby Scott for so generously making an hour of its broadcast schedule available for our showcase of the UCSB Music Department.
Please join host John Villar for this final broadcast – Sunday evening at about 9:05 p.m. (PDT) on Classical 93.7 KDB-FM in the Santa Barbara/Ventura areas and on the worldwide web at KDB.com. In most cases, online listeners can use this link http://www.kdb.com/KDBlive/stream.htmto hear the show; or just go to the KDB web site, http://www.kdb.com.
