The Center for Research in Electronic Art Technology (CREATE) will present "Music Landscape", featuring Robert Morris, on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at 7:30 pm at Lotte Lehmann Concert Hall on the UCSB campus. This concert will present a vista on the landscape of electronic music, from the mathematically-conceived to the improvised. The program will open with a new work by the CREATE Ensemble, UCSB’s own laptop ensemble. Music PhD student Rafael Radna will also present a new work in octophonic sound projection. The American-Australian composer Warren Burt will present one of his twelve cellular automata studies: Perils of Paulinean Polyrhythms (2013). Finally, featured guest artist Robert Morris, Professor of Music Composition at Eastman School of Music, will give a live performance of his Mysterious Landscape for prerecorded natural sounds, synthesizer, and digital delay system. CREATE is JoAnn Kuchera-Morin (Director), Curtis Roads (Associate Director), and Rodney Duplessis (Technical Coordinator).
