UCSB Wind Ensemble
Directed by Paul Bambach, the UCSB Wind Ensemble will present its Annual Winter Concert, entitled "Celebration of the Divertimento," on Thursday, March 5, 2020 at 7:30 pm in Lotte Lehmann Concert Hall. The University Wind Ensemble will perform Aaron Copland's Variants Outdoor Overture, displaying his "populist" style; Jack Stamp's Divertimento in F, in five movements, each dedicated to a different composer; Vincent Persichetti's Divertimento, one of the most widely performed works in the band repertoire; and Prelude, Processional and Postlude, the newest work from the pen of Mark Camphouse. The concert will feature graduate assistant Enoch Matsumura conducting Robert Sheldon's Symphonic Celebration, a joyful showcase for the advanced ensemble, and the program will also feature Donald Hunsberger's wind ensemble arrangement of J.S. Bach's Passacaglia and Fugue in C minor.
