Professor Prizer is the author of books and editions of early music, and of more than thirty-five articles that appeared in scholarly journals, collections of essays, and the reports of congresses.  He has written on Renaissance music at north-Italian courts, Florence, and Rome, as well as on gender issues.  He also established the importance of the Order of the Golden Fleece as a major patron of sacred music in the Low Countries in the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries.
