The UCSB Wind Ensemble with Paul Bambach, Director, will present its Annual Fall Concert, entitled "Bits and Pieces" on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. in Lotte Lehmann Concert Hall. The University Wind Ensemble will perform Roger Cichy’s “edgy" Galilean Moons, Eric Whitacre’s “beautifully sonorous” October, and Gustav Holst’s “classic” First Suite in Eb for Military Band, transcribed for modern band by Colin Mathews. The concert will also feature graduate assistant, Cynthia Vong conducting Robert Sheldon’s Flight of the Piasa, based on the legendary flying bird-monster of the Alton, Illinois Illini tribe. Rounding out the concert will be Blaze by Steve Rouse and Carnival Overture by Antonin  Dvořák, arranged by Mark Walker, revised and edited by Charles Yeago. Please join us for an evening of exciting wind ensemble music!
