About Gabrielle Valladares
Clarinet has been Gabrielle Valladares’ focus and passion since she was nine. She is now a fourth-year Music Performance Major at University of California, Santa Barbara, studying under Paul Bambach, Eb and first clarinetist in the Columbus Symphony. During her years as an undergraduate at the University of California, Santa Barbara, she has participated in playing both principal and second clarinet in the Chamber Orchestra and Wind Ensemble. She is a flexible player, performing various parts in ensembles with the Bb, A, Eb clarinets, and the basset horn. She works actively with many chamber ensembles, including a competition-winning clarinet duet. She has collaborated with fellow student composers and has premiered original works for their recitals. She will be continuing her studies as a graduate student at Ohio State University next year under Dr. Caroline Hartig.
