As part of the Corwin Series, Dan Albertson presents a lecture on the Filipino composer José Maceda on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at 6 p.m. in Studio Xenakis (Room 2215, Music Building). Admission is free.
Dan Albertson is never sure how to describe himself. He compiles the Living Composers Project, and has edited multiple volumes of the British journal Contemporary Music Review and now serves on its editorial board. He has contributed to other European publications and writes for the review La Folia, with a focus on the obscure and neglected. He has written notes for record labels in Germany, Italy, Portugal, the UK, and the USA, too, and has provided translations for nearly 50 recordings. He conjures up poetry to amuse himself, which has somehow been set by composers from 10 countries.
