UCSB is the only campus to offer the Graduate String Quartet Program. Established in 1985, it receives special funding from the Humanities division in Letters and Science. Below are the details of the program. Quartet Members receive: Application Procedure The quartet coaches with all members of the String Faculty, rotating on a per quarter basis. Two complete quartet concerts are given each year and participants are expected to participate in the Ensemble for Contemporary Music. Each quartet member will have private study with the appropriate faculty member: Yuval Yaron, violin, Helen Callus, viola and Geoffrey Rutkowski, cello, and is expected to give at least one solo recital per academic year.
