Woodwinds, Brass & Percussion Program

Woodwinds, Brass & Percussion Faculty

This program offers high quality performance instruction from a supportive faculty in the context of a distinguished research university. UCSB alumni are found in the ranks of professional musicians and collegiate faculty. Faculty members are drawn from distinguished musicians based in the Santa Barbara and Los Angeles areas. Regular large ensemble opportunities are available in the University Symphony, the University Wind Ensemble, and the ECM-Ensemble for Contemporary Music, which features internationally known composers and performers at the annual New Music Festival. Scholarship ensembles include the Mosher Wind Quintet and Maurice Faulkner Brass Quintet. Additional performance opportunities are available through the Chamber Music Program, and ensembles from the Clarinet, Flute, Horn and Percussion studios. The campus is the site of regular Master Classes by distinguished visiting artists, and the scene of nationally prominent events such as the American Horn Competition and the Santa Barbara Flute Festival.
