The UCSB Keyboard Program offers a comprehensive curriculum, emphasizing professional performance focus within the context of one of the outstanding universities in the nation. Students receive the finest training and guidance from a dedicated, internationally renowned faculty of artist-teachers, and the program thus provides a rich and rewarding learning experience in an atmosphere of artistic and academic excellence. Performance opportunities are an integral part of the Keyboard Program, and include solo and chamber music recitals, studio classes and performance seminars, Master Classes by visiting artists, and the Faulkner Gallery Town and Gown Series. Students may also participate in piano ensembles, the Chamber Music Program, the ECM-Ensemble for Contemporary Music, and in early music and world music ensembles. In addition, students have numerous opportunities to contribute as accompanists for instrumental and vocal studios as well as for recitals and other performances, gaining diversified and invaluable concert experience in these important career areas.
