Paul Sahuc Lecturer American baritone Paul Sahuc is well known for his dual career as performer and teacher. Recent operatic credits include Peter in Hansel and Gretel, Marcello in La Boheme, and Count Almaviva in Le Nozze di Figaro. Among his recent solo oratorio performances are Ralph Vaughan Williams’ Fantasia on Christmas Carols, Ein Deutsches Requiem of Johannes Brahms, and Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana, performed with the Santa Barbara and Acadiana Symphony Orchestras. He has been a guest of several leading musical organizations including The Michigan Opera Theatre, The Louisiana Philharmonic and The Minnesota Opera. Paul’s discography includes Solitare with The Royal Swedish Opera and Der Rosenkavalier with The Minnesota Opera. He has premiered several compositions and song cycles including Four Quotations with the Bowling Green String Quartet. Paul has served on the music staff and faculties of several professional arts organizations, universities and summer festivals. His vocal students comprise some of America’s finest emerging talent, and are frequently engaged by The Metropolitan Opera, Seattle Opera, The Los Angeles Opera, and The Minnesota Opera, among others. Presently, Paul serves on the music faculties of The University of California Santa Barbara, The University of Redlands and the Idyllwild Arts Academy, as well as maintaining a private voice studio. He is a graduate of the University of Louisiana Lafayette, and the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. |
