John Dearman is a founding member of the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet. The Quartet regularly tours worldwide and has appeared on stage at Carnegie Hall, the Hollywood Bowl, The Concertgebow of Amsterdam, Berlin's Philharmonie, and Tokyo Opera City. They've recorded for Sony Classical, Delos and GHA and their 10th release, "LAGQ: Latin" is on the Telarc label. Mr. Dearman has performed with members of the LA Philharmonic as part of the Green Umbrella Concert Series, and frequently tours in the U.S. and Europe as a soloist and with mandolin virtuoso Caterina Lichtenberg. Master class credits include the Eastman and Manhattan Schools of Music, Yale University, the San Francisco Conservatory, the Royal Academy of Music in London and the Köln Hochschule. Mr. Dearman has his Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees in Performance from the University of Southern California where he was named an Outstanding Alumnus of the School of Music in 1997. He has taught guitar at El Camino College since 1985 and joined the UCSB music faculty in the Fall of 2002.
